Today 107k for 2,972k. On the Log Driver’s Waltz from Ladysmith (camping) to Gracefield (Carpe Diem’s store). This was a relatively short 107k day as (a) I had a non-refundable b&b booked for tomorrow in Wakefield, (b) I got almost no sleep last night due to the Oktoberfest concert and rv generator noise, and (c) the excellent Oktoberfest breakfast wasn’t served until after 8am. I was glad it was a short day because I was so tired and there was a strong headwind. In Gracefield at the campground the owners weren’t there and did not answer their phone. So I called Carpe Diem Aventures as they are listed on the LDW route as a biker friendly adventure tourism business. They had just sold their store but told me I could stay in their store and where to find the key. There was a shower and toilet and I will sleep on my air mattress. At the Metro I bought some good food for dinner and breakfast, including a 500ml bottle of wine.
