Riden today 140 km, for total 725 km. On Route at 725 km.
I slept in and didn’t get started until 10am as I was put drinking and talking with my new friends David and Nenad and didn’t get to bed until after midnight.
Enjoyed the sunny ride on quiet streets and dike trails (a little bumpy). The Danube in a few places was covered in plastic bottles! But even there the birds were still singing and large numbers of locals fishing.
As I neared the Iron Gates Gorge I had to wait about 2.5 hours for a small ferry. So I had an early dinner at a restaurant. A family asked about my trip and advice for one they would like to do, which I enjoyed giving to them. Another family that didn’t speak English bought me a beer.
After the ferry ride I made it to Camping Asin in Cezava. Setup my tent, showered, chatted with the host and and other guests, ate my post dinner snack of a tin of sardines and pastry and hit the sack with a forecast of rain in my thoughts.
