Today Ole, Mathis and I enjoyed our private four hour Danube Delta boat tour. Our Go Danube Delta tours advertised as relaxed slow boat tours for nature lovers. Initially I was a little jealous of the fast speed boats zipping past us to one interest spot and then zipping to the next. However I soon appreciated hearing and seeing all the birds that our slow quiet speed allowed. We saw lots of birds. On the nice Danube Delta brochure they gave us I was able to check off seeing thirteen different birds (see the photo with the checked birds list). Sadly we came 2 km from the border with Ukraine that is now closed due to the war.
After the tour we walked up the highest hill to the Monumental Eroiler (for independence). From the top we had a fine view of some of the delta and Ismail in Ukraine.
Then sadly it was time for Ole and Mathis to get a bus back to Constanta. Tomorrow they will continue their bike trip to Istanbul.
